Recall for 6,117 MY2011 KTM and Husaberg Off-road and Competition Models

KTM and Husaberg are recalling about 6,117 off-road motorcycles due to a risk of cracked handlebar clamps.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the handlebar clamps on some off-road KTM and Husaberg models can develop cracks from normal use. In time, these cracks may cause the handlebars to move from their set positions, potentially leading to  a loss of control.

KTM received one report of a customer injured as a result of a cracked handlebar clamp.

The recall campaign affects 6,117 units. The affected models are:

• the 150, 250 and 300 versions of the 2011 KTM XC;
• the 200, 250 and 300 versions of the 2011 KTM XC-W;
• the 450 and 530 versions of the 2011 KTM XC-W Six Days;
• the 2011 KTM 250 XCF-W Six Days;
• the 150 and 250 versions of the 2011 KTM SX;
• the 250, 350 and 450 versions of the 2011 KTM SX-F;
• the 2011 Husaberg 390FE;
• the 2011 Husaberg 450 FE, and
• the 2011 Husaberg 450 FX.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled models and contact authorized KTM and Husaberg dealers to schedule a free repair.
